Tomebuy, the service behind the catalogue

What the company is, what it promises in writing, where it is strong, and the cases where another kind of service would serve you better.

What Tomebuy is

Tomebuy is an agent in the old sense of the word: it does the buying for you. Point it at something on Taobao, Tmall, 1688 or Weidian and staff place that order, take delivery in a Chinese warehouse, photograph what turns up, shelve it, and post it on when you give the word. No stock of its own, nothing for sale on the site, no margin on the goods.

The operator is named on the contact page as WOCHEE Global Trading Co., Limited, a Hong Kong company with the number 79081063, at an address in San Po Kong. Support is by email, with a promise to answer within a day on weekdays. Cover runs 9am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, and a chat widget sits in the corner of the site during those hours.

Tomebuy's contact page, read 22 October 2026: company name, number, Hong Kong address and hours.

The site is new: its policy pages were created in January 2026 and the settings behind the site also hold a mainland address in Jiangxi, with map coordinates that fall near Zhengzhou instead. Three locations, no explanation. We quote the Hong Kong entity because that is the one in the legal text. All three.

What it promises in writing

Warehouse loss compensatedInsurance and compensationAt cost for purchases; forwarded goods capped at RMB 5,000 per order

Read that table as a list of commitments to hold the company to, not as marketing. Every one of them is quoted from a page you can open yourself, and every one is dated in this edition.

The counterfeit question, answered twice over

Tomebuy publishes an anti-counterfeiting policy and links it from the footer of every page. The wording is firm: buying counterfeit products through the site is prohibited, orders can be declined, accounts and related accounts suspended, and goods already in its possession disposed of. A separate prohibited items statement names imitation goods alongside weapons, drugs and currency, and a service commitment page repeats the position.

At the same time, a question on the home page answers plainly that Tomebuy does not guarantee the authenticity of what sellers list, and the inspection explicitly does not test for it. Those two positions sit together: the company forbids the trade and refuses to vouch for individual goods. For you, the practical consequence is that judgement happens before you order, not at the warehouse.

Why choose Tomebuy, and what it is good at

Three things stand out when you read the policies next to the field as a whole.

The fee structure is simple. No percentage on the goods and no handling charge means the arithmetic is short: goods, freight, about RMB 8 per parcel, extras if you ask. Services that take a cut of the item price are harder to compare, particularly on expensive orders.

The optional services are itemised rather than bundled. Extra photos, a measured shot, priority purchasing, storage extension, reinforcement, vacuum packing: each one is a line you choose. You are not paying for a tier you do not use.

The written policies are unusually specific. The inspection page says what it does not do. The compensation page lists the cases it refuses. The customs page admits that inspections are unpredictable. Specific refusals are more useful than vague promises, because you can plan around them.

When another kind of service suits you better

Four cases where we would not reach for this route first:

  • You need a freight price before you commit. Tomebuy publishes no public rate table and no estimator. Prices appear once goods are in the warehouse. If your decision depends on knowing freight in advance, a service with a public calculator is the better fit.
  • You are buying one cheap, light item. The international leg dominates the bill at that size, and any agent is poor value for a single twelve-dollar object. Batch it, or buy locally.
  • You need the goods tested, not looked at. Electronics are checked for accessories and damage, not switched on. If function matters, buy where there is a warranty.
  • You want a long, documented track record. The policy pages date from January 2026 and parts of them carry template wording from elsewhere. If an established history is part of what you are buying, that is a fair reason to look at longer-running services.

What the other kinds of service are sets out the alternatives without ranking them.

Community reports: almost none exist yet

We looked for community feedback the way anyone would: Reddit threads, YouTube reviews, TikTok clips, a Discord server, and the usual review sites. On 22 October 2026 there was effectively nothing. Tomebuy runs no social accounts at all; the "follow us" slot in its own footer holds a single email icon, and the channel name you would expect on YouTube does not exist. Searches return other companies with similar names.

So the honest statement is: there is no body of user reports to summarise yet, and anyone presenting one for this service is likely describing a different company. That cuts both ways. There is no pattern of complaints either, and the reward offered for a review video suggests a company that knows how thin its public footprint is.

Treat it as a young service: start with a small order, keep the photos, and judge from your own experience rather than from a verdict nobody has earned yet.
