Who writes it, how it is funded, what it will not do, and how to get a mistake fixed.
Who publishes this
Tomebuy Spreadsheet Unabridged is written and maintained by a small independent editorial team that documents cross-border shopping services for English-speaking buyers. We are readers of these services first: the questions answered here are the ones we had to work out ourselves.
We are not Tomebuy. We are not WOCHEE Global Trading Co., Limited. We are not any marketplace seller, and we have no access to your account, your orders or your parcels. Nothing is sold on this site and there is no login.
Five steps behind every entry
- Read the source. Every policy quoted here was read from the live site, in English, as a signed-out visitor, on a date we print beside the figure.
- Check it against a second page. Most of the errata list came out of this step: the same question asked twice on one site, answered differently.
- Write it in our own words. We quote sparingly, name the page, and avoid reproducing policy text at length.
- Test the links. Outbound links are checked before publication. A link that does not resolve is removed rather than left hopefully in place.
- Say what we do not know. Freight prices, coupon values and future customs behaviour are all unknowable from outside, and pages here say so.
Figures in this edition carry read dates for a reason: agents change terms quietly, and a number without a date is a number nobody is responsible for.
Who pays for this edition
Links to tomebuy.com and to the product catalogue carry a referral tag. If you order after following one, this site may earn a commission from the service, at no cost to you and with no effect on the price you pay. That is the whole business model.
What it does not buy: Tomebuy has no say over what appears here, has not reviewed this site, and has not been shown it before publication. The errata list and the section on where Tomebuy is a poor fit are the test of that, and they stay.
Four things this edition refuses
- Rank services against each other. The data needed does not exist publicly, and a ranking without it is a guess with a number attached.
- Quote freight prices. They are not published and the figures exposed in public data are not real.
- Promise outcomes at customs. Nobody can.
- Help you buy counterfeit goods. Tomebuy prohibits it in writing and this edition takes that at face value.
Writing to the editors, and what we keep
Write to [email protected]. Corrections are welcome with a link or a screenshot, and go into the change record with the date. Questions about a live order should go to Tomebuy instead, through the routes listed here, because we cannot see anything about it.
No cookies are set here, no analytics run, and nothing is asked of you. The calculators work inside your browser and store nothing at all. An email to us is kept while the matter is open and then deleted.
